Connective Tissue
Connective Tissue is also known as Fascia. In the training/health world it is the hot topic of focus and so there is a lot of good/bad advice out there. It is also a relatively new area, so nothing we cover is definitive - other than we have it and it is vital to our overall health and well being!

June Week 4 - 2020
This over view of how those who can feel more in their bodies or are more senstive is really fascinating! As is the idea that some people can feel very little. One reason I believe this is vital to know/understand about your self is that as more energy is coming at us, our bodies will pick that up and it is easy to confuse it with something it is not.
There is a lot that is going to be happening in the future we won't/don't understand. But, trusting what our bodies are telling us will be KEY to getting through it!
There is a lot that is going to be happening in the future we won't/don't understand. But, trusting what our bodies are telling us will be KEY to getting through it!
This is one half of the picture, but good to know!
If you don't want to listen to the above seminar, the quick test is below.
Children are MUCH more sensitive - life does beat it out of us so to speak... So understanding these ideas will make it easier to assist others in dealing with some of what is coming. Remember this is all process, not outcome oriented. The learning and understanding never end!
If you want to geek out and get to the bottom of it all!
We know our bodies are mostly water, estimates are at 70%. But did you know, and you will if you learn about the fourth phase of water, that muscles as one example are 99% of this fourth phase of water? Meaning everything we focus on in our muscles is only 1% of the equation. We still need to use them, but wow, right!
June Week 1 - 2020
Overview of Connective Tissue and Hydration
As I said above, this is a new area and full of all kinds of information. My takeaway? It is as if not more important than our muscles and bones in determining our posture strength and alignment. It is a communication system for our nerves. It is the source of much of the chronic pain people experience. All good reasons to know and understand it!
June Week 2 - 2020
The power of understanding our fascia is primarily focused on how to release the pain and tension in it. You can do this with movement, hydration (which is not more water), and compression. We did some of that last month with the foot release work. If this is something you want to get more involved with, there are a LOT of balls, rollers, foam devices to assist in the release. There is also a lot of disagreement about what does and does not work - proceed with caution and slowly!
ARTICLE overview on all the different types of tools and equipment you can use to release the fascia on your own. I am not endorsing any of this and haven't tried most of it - but I do use some of them to work out the kinks! - LINK HERE
June Week 3 - 2020
The first video talks about how energy is released in the body with light and water. The second video talks about the same idea using manual hands on techniques. The connective tissue is a 'system' - not just one thing. It is one of the mediums that allows energy to FLOW in our bodies. Dehydration inhibits that flow. There are several ways to 'rehydrate' - sunlight, grounding, green juices, manual techniques, and sauna's. Our current world includes almost NONE of these!
You can find some of the methods on You Tube, here's a link to Sue Hitzmann's process. She is probably the most effective at bringing this idea to the normal person in self care. There are also classes in most major cities. If you are in chronic pain, here techniques may provide the best immediate relief. However, in the long run I believe it is the combination of everything that creates real long term hydration of the connective tissue as health and energy!
