If you are in the northern hemisphere, July is usually a hot month! I have no idea if this will work, but let's try and see if we can cool down with this breathing technique!
July Habit = FOCUS
There is never a day when focus won't be a part of it, but this month we're taking a bit of extra time to 'focus' on focus! #1 - focus is NOT meant for work productivity alone.... even though that is where most of the research is focused on! BUT, you can take some of the skills and apply them to the rest of your life.
July Week 4 - 2020
Behaviors that affect our testosterone and estrogen in both men and women.
The ideas expressed by John Gray and others about who we are as men and women and what our world, including our behaviors/actions, and there effects is absolutely fascinating - way beyond just romantic relationships. It is powerful for each of us, but even more relevant I believe in how we are affecting the children in our world today. There is no fast and easy way through all of this. The below is an overview interview (I couldn't find one that didn't have a weird host, sorry). You can also buy the book, link here: BEYOND MARS AND VENUS by John Gray LINK
Here is an audio interview with a written transcript if you prefer that version -LINK HERE.
Most Fascinating Fact Ever:
|
When men become angry with no positive resolution, they convert their testosterone into estrogen. Explains MGTOW men who hate women but act like them! Angry women, well.... can't explain everything in this space!
|
All I can say is, WOW - you really must listen to this...
This Week if you only do one thing, please look into this information. It's not about John Gray, but about who we are as HUMAN. Our masculine and feminine is under assault. As we get older we also tend to become invisible - both sexes are complaining. Part of that is we lose our roles as men and women when we are younger.
As we age we have to work harder at holding on to our essence as MEN and WOMEN!

July Week 1 - 2020
Food & Fasting
I've been studying food and nutrition for over 40 years now. It is a controversial and emotional loaded subject for many. For our purposes here we will be focusing on two issues: how to function as human and how to survive in emergencies. Conventional wisdom says we should ration food if there is a shortage, but the science is supporting more of full calories or no calories as a model when you can. Food is key to our chemical balance, so when we look through that lens, we can get down to basics.
These four videos will give you an overview. I am including the sodium/potassium video here (tho it is more electric body related) in case you start fasting or find the symptoms an issue now!
This Week:
|
Watch the above videos and think about what you do now, why you do it, and what you want to work on in the future around food and fasting - if anything. What are your primary goals/outcomes with food?

The most important question you need to ask your self in relationship to food is:
WHY DO YOU EAT?
The other key concept here is food is not the only factor in the human/chemistry equation. It is the factor that is most often focused on and the easiest to control (at least right now in our world). Here is a VERY brief summary:

Food is a powerful fuel, medicine, and poison. It is an even bigger industry, distraction, and obsession. Nothing is more important to our survival and to our long term health. BUT, every one has a different relationship to food - from wild addiction to complete disinterest. Any discussion of nutrition and its effects on the body are a waste of time until you have a clear relationship with food itself.
This Week:

Take the time to really think about your current relationship with food now and what you want it to be in the future. IF food shortages become real, this will be a powerful issue that will either run us or will will survive because of it.

July Week 3 - 2020
Hormones and our current world has become a huge threat to our health and survival. The podcast below is 2016 and a bit unfocused, but highlights a HUGE piece of the puzzle of why there is so many problems with our health, sanity, and basic human functions.
At this point in human history, we have hundreds of chemicals in our body that don't belong there. Food, cleaning products, toxic waste, industrial contaminants, and more than I could ever list here. There is No Way to undo all the damage we've experienced in our past and No Way to prevent any chemical we don't want from entering our systems. This is just the reality of our here and now. The best we can do is make new choices and detox as best we can.
Certain food will aid the body to detox from unwanted substances. The only way our bodies can detox and eliminate are: Sweating, Breathing, and GI Elimination or commonly known as, going to the bathroom...
Breathing Technique/Practice Specific for Detoxing
The lower lobes (we have five) is where the real benefit comes from exhaling out the old air. No matter what technique you use, this is the most powerful benefit from focused breathing we can achieve. This is a more concentrated practice for those extra motivated!
Sweat it OUT!
Not sweating is a relativity new issue in human development. Our ancestors worked hard and never thought about it. Those in warm climates, well it just was what you did. Those in cold climates built saunas and baths and made sweating a social activity - something we could use in today's world! If you have a medical condition, extreme exercise or temperatures may not be a good idea for you: proceed with more research and much caution.

The one area most of us are weak in is, sweating. I'll admit it's a hard thing to put back into our lives. Infrared Sauna's are great ways to sweat. Exercise, sauna's at gyms, and your suggestion here:____
Even if you can't find a way to sweat this week, start thinking about a way to begin. It is July.... much easier a problem to solve than in December! Don't forget to hydrate again! |
